About Us

The Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy is a  non-profit land trust conserving land and water resources in the Blue Ridge Mountains. Since 1974 we have protected more than 75,000 acres including popular outdoor recreation destinations such as the Highlands of Roan, Mt. Mitchell State Park, and the edge of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park.

SAHC works to conserve the unique plant and animal habitat, clean water, farmland, scenic beauty, and places for people to enjoy outdoor recreation in the mountains of North Carolina and Tennessee for the benefit of present and future generations.
